Adult International Selection – Eurojam and/or other Region International Trips 2020

What? Adult selection event for either Eurojam and/or other region international trips in 2020
When? 1-2 March 2019
Where? Camp House, Spennymoor, Durham, DL16 7QX
Who for? Adults wishing to be part of the leadership teams for either Eurojam and/or other region international trips to take place in 2020
 How much? If you are selected to take part in the weekend there will be a nominal charge of £20 a head to cover accommodation and food.


This weekend is for adults within Girlguiding North East England region who are interested in being selected to be part of a leadership team for either Eurojam and/or other region international trips in 2020.  In order to apply to be a leader on any of these trips you will need to be over the age of 18 years by the date of the trip.


We are selecting as follows:-

Eurojam 2020

Applications for Eurojam 2020 are now open and we would ask interested leaders to fill in the application form  which will be used to shortlist leaders to attend the leaders’ selection weekend which will be held at Camp House, Spennymoor from 1-2 March 2019.

We are recruiting for leaders to take the region’s 2 units to the European Jamboree to be held near Gdansk in Poland from 27 July – 6 August 2020.

We are looking for the following:-

  • 2 x Unit Leader – Each to oversee their overall unit made up of 4 adults and 36 participants and liaise with the region contact with the CMT. With overall responsibility for the unit’s travel and time in Poland and the planning of the trip.
  • 2 x Deputy Unit Leader – Each to act as a treasurer and to be responsible for the unit’s finances before, during and after the event. This will include managing the group’s budget whilst on camp.  The deputy leader will also be responsible for the 2 briefing weekends will will be for the whole region contingent.
  • 2 x Assistant Unit Leader – Each to act as first aider and to be responsible for the unit’s first aid needs for the trip and in advance of the trip. Also to assist with the briefing weekend planning.
  • 2 x Assistant Unit Leader – Each to act as QM and to be the lead on the unit’s catering whilst on camp, this will include the management of the menu and daily shopping. Also to manage the catering for the briefing weekends.


Other Region International 2020 Trips

At present we anticipate the following other region international trips will take place in 2020 and we will also be selecting for:-

Trip 1 – A camp during Easter 2020 – 2 leaders required

Trip 2 – A community development project during Summer 2020 – 3 leaders required (1 x Trip Leader, 1 x Assistant Leader (Treasurer), 1 x Assistant Leader (First Aid)


How to apply


Complete this application form  and return it to by 3 February 2019.  Upon receipt the application form will be reviewed by the region international team and following the closing date you will be contacted to be advised if you have been successful in obtaining a place on the selection weekend.
