This course is one of a series of courses throughout the United Kingdom, which will bring together delegates from Operating Authorities, Assessor Networks and Approved Activity Providers. The purpose of the EAAS is to prepare, train and accredit Assessors to undertake expedition assessments. Only accredited assessors may assess DofE Expeditions.
Becoming an assessor is a step which will help to support our young women who are taking part in the award. However before attending the course you do need some experience of working with DofE expeditions. We also expect you to hold the relevant qualification for the level of country you wish to assess in – so for example a Silver assessor would be expected to have level 2 walking or equivalent for alternative means of travel.
You must have completed the DofE’s e-induction, online pre-course training module, and, if you are assessing at Gold level or Bronze and Silver expeditions in wild country, the additional online Gold module. These can all be found at www.DofEtraining.org . You also need to complete and return the EAAS3_EAAS_Training_Course_Application_Form 2017.
On successful completion of each module you will be able to print off a letter of completion which must be sent to the Region office along with your participant information form. Failure to provide these will mean that you cannot be accepted onto the course.
