New leaders, advisers or those interested in starting DofE Groups

How much?

£25 to include lunch and a copy of the DofE Handbook

There is some funding available for those who have members of their group living in a deprived location, or who themselves live in a deprived location.  To know if you, or those in your group, qualify please have a look here – Definition of disadvantaged – DofE Girlguiding North East England

Dress Code      Guide wear/uniform for those who are members of Girlguiding

This course will give you lots of information about how to run the D of E award in your unit, local area or county. It will include how the programme runs, how to support the young people working on it, how to use eDofE, and how to introduce the expedition section. You will also get ideas of how to access support. The focus will be on the D of E in Girlguiding. It will be useful both to those new to running the award or those who have taken on a new role or have only been involved for a year or two. So you might be a Guide leader wanting to take advantage of the change allowing girls in Year 9 to start the award, a ranger leader wanting to introduce the award, or maybe a leader supporting girls in the 14–25 age group whatever their role.

The cost includes a copy of the latest edition of the D of E handbook, costing £6.50. If you already have your own current copy please deduct that from your course fee – but you must have a copy of the handbook to use at the course.

Before you attend you will need to complete the online introduction to D of E found at Please bring a copy of your completion certificate with you to the course.
