The Chief Commissioner and Girlguiding North East England warmly invite all members of The Senior Section, Guides aged 13+ with their Leaders, all adult members and Trefoil Guild members to join us to celebrate The Senior Section Spectacular at Fountains Abbey, Ripon on Thursday 18 August 2016 from 6pm.
The cost is £20 for the evening which includes access to Fountains Abbey, an evening’s entertainment, a hog roast tea (special dietary requirements are catered for), concert and evening activities. For an extra £15 why not stay on for a night under the stars and watch the dawn break at the start of the next century of The Senior Section?
We are also delighted to welcome the new Chief Guide, Valerie Le Vaillant, to Girlguiding North East England as she will be joining us for this spectacular celebration.

How do I get there? Joining instructions will be sent out nearer the time of the event. The nearest bus station is Ripon Bus Station.
Will there be parking facilities available? Yes
Will you be putting on a shuttle bus from Ripon bus station? Yes
What’s included in the cost? The £20 will include access to Fountains Abbey, the evening activities, concert, hog roast tea, and refreshments throughout the night, a badge.
When can I arrive? Activities start at 6pm, we’ll confirm logistics nearer the time.
Is this a uniformed event? Yes
Is there a special guest coming? Yes, the new Chief Guide will be joining us!
Will there be toilets available? Yes
Where will I be sleeping? In a designated field in a bivvy. All bivvy equipment and instructions will be provided for you to make up your own, and assistance will be on hand.
What’s included in the overnight cost? The same as the evening cost outlined above plus an additional badge, equipment and instructions for the bivvy, hot drinks through the night, toilets, a light breakfast, first aid cover and security.
Will there be showers? No.
What do I need to bring? A kit list will be sent out nearer the time, but it will definitely include a sleeping bag and roll mat.
