Isabel Woodland

I have been involved in guiding for many years and continue to both enjoy what I do, and remain passionate about the opportunities for growth and development that we give to girls and young women. I enjoy training adults as I get to meet so many interesting people, and hope to make a genuine difference to their work with their units or in their roles.
My past guiding roles have been very varied covering Brownies, Guides and Senior Section, as well as roles at all levels from district to region in the outdoors, international, guiding development, leadership, and assistant county commissioner.
My current roles in girlguiding are District Commissioner, NEE Duke of Edinburgh’s Award adviser, and trainer / assessor for the walking scheme.
My varied background means I train on many topics including outdoor activities, risk management, commissioners, leadership qualification, residential opportunities, First Response and Safe Space.
Outside of guiding my professional role is a teacher (almost retired) with many years of senior management experience. With retirement has come the opportunity to take on more training opportunities. I live centrally in the region and close to the A1 so can travel to most areas, and can now do midweek as well as weekend trainings.
