The Queen’s Guide Award
The Queen’s Guide Award is the ultimate award in guiding. It is a series of challenges that allows Senior Section members to develop their own skills whilst contributing to guiding and their local community.
The award is flexible to allow it to fit in with your other commitments and allow you to continue it if your situation changes.
FAQs about the Queen’s Guide Award
Who can do it? Any member of the Senior Section aged between 16 and 25
How long will it take? The award must be completed within three years of your official start date and before your 26th birthday
What will I gain from it? A great sense of achievement and skill development. Also, you will receive a silver brooch, an enamel badge and a certificate signed by the Queen.
How do I get started? After you’ve read through the syllabus (on the Senior Section CD) contact your county Queen’s Guide coordinator and your District / Division commissioner. Register your interest by completing the S/QG form. Choose a personal mentor and hold an initial planning meeting.
Who can help me? Your county Queen’s Guide coordinator, your mentor, your District / Division commissioner, your assessors. You can also talk to Queen’s Guides in your area about their experiences and any tips they might have. The Senior Section CD has examples for each part of the syllabus to help you when thinking about your plan.
