Maia Daguerre, Region Manager
I started working for Girlguiding North East England in January 2012. My career up to that point included managing support services for a national charity, the Information Services team for City of York Libraries and working as a freelance trainer and coach. When I’m not at work I love reading, singing and, when my playful cats allow me, knitting and crocheting.
My role as region manager is to look after the staff and facilities at the region office and to support the chief commissioner, trustees and other senior volunteers by ensuring that the charity is run legally, safely and efficiently for the benefit of all our members.
Gillian Bradley, Training and Projects Administrator
I joined the region staff in April 2019 as the admin assistant, and I’m now the training and projects administrator. I provide admin support for the region trainers and look after the region safe space trainings. I’m also the point of contact in the office for everything to do with growth and retention, the 18-30 offer and our external partnerships.
I’ve been involved in Guiding since I was a Brownie and am currently a Guide leader. When I have some spare time outside Guiding, I enjoy walking, travelling, and following Worcestershire and England’s fortunes (or otherwise) in cricket.
Sally Jackson, Finance Officer & Team Leader
I have been part of the region office team since 2000. As finance officer I deal with all the office payments, invoicing, banking and maintaining the region’s financial records. I also oversee the shop orders, Duke of Edinburgh’s award registrations and starting new unit grants. Since October 2019 I have also taken on the role of Team Leader to support the staff team and the region manager. I have been active in Guiding since joining Guides on my 10th birthday and I currently hold several voluntary roles in the organisation ranging from Guide and Brownie leader to county adviser, treasurer and depot manager. Outside of work and Guiding I enjoy knitting, music, jigsaws and reading.
Sharron Little, Events Administrator
I joined the region team in November 2016 as an administration assistant and in July 2017 I became the events administrator. I usually work Monday-Friday from 9am to 2pm and I am the link in the region office between the lead volunteers organising events and the participants who are taking part as well as dealing with the administration aspect of all region events.
Originally from Scarborough, I have been a Brownie and Guide and am now an adult volunteer as a leader in a Guide unit. I love cats, baking and spending time with my family.
Emily Verrier, Marketing and Communications Assistant
Having joined the office in January 2020, I’m very new to the region team. In my role as M&C assistant, I’m here to support marketing volunteers in promoting the region and our events. This involves sharing what units across the region have been up to on our social media channels, representing the region at community events and distributing information to our members via regular newsletters. I was involved in Girlguiding as a Brownie and Guide, re-joining when I moved to York for university from Essex. Outside of Guides I enjoy folk singing, reading and travelling.
Elizabeth Greenaway, County Administrator
I joined the North East England team in April 2019 in a new role as County Administrator for two counties, East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire South. I work part-time and my usual pattern is full days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday morning.
I have over 21 years work experience within the private, public and voluntary sectors which should be useful for helping the counties with a wide variety of tasks. I’m originally from London and was a Brownie and Guide. In my spare time I am a keen gardener and love walking my dog and practising yoga.
Hannah Coster, Administration Assistant
I’ve recently joined the region team in January 2020 as the Administration Assistant. I provide administrative support to the region team, and act as a point of contact for general queries. I was a Rainbow and Brownie when I was younger and am now a Brownie leader in York. Outside of my work and Guiding, I enjoy writing, playing guitar and photography.
