Statement (Updated 23/03/2020)
Following the advice of the UK Government on the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, Girlguiding have suspended all face-to-face Guiding activity in the UK from 16th March 2020, please see details on their website.
As of 20th March, the Girlguiding North East England office is closed and region staff will be mostly working from home. We will still be contactable by email or phone so please get in touch with any queries. Shop orders will still be taken online but will be available by postal delivery only. We hope to continue as usual, supporting volunteers across the region, but we appreciate your ongoing patience whilst we adapt.
We will be reviewing future region events as the situation changes so if you’re booked to attend a training soon please keep an eye on your email inbox and we will be in touch. Our teams planning exciting events towards the end of 2020 and throughout 2021 are carrying on with their hard work.
This is a difficult and uncertain time for individuals, families and communities and our priority will always be the safety of our members. We will be collecting and sharing ideas for continuing Guiding during this time, on social media and this webpage. We ask that everyone prioritise the essentials of public health and online safeguarding.
All the best,
The Region Team
Q: Should I still be booking for Flamingo Fling?
A: Currently, we have no reason to think that Flamingo Fling won’t go ahead but in the event of cancellation by the region then a full refund will apply as per our standard terms and conditions. We are asking people to continue booking, if they’re in a position to do so, and at this stage the original booking deadline of 22 May still applies. Please note that if you’re booking transport or incurring other expenses at this stage and making non-refundable financial commitments then this is not covered by our cancellation policy so you may want to consult with your local advisers
