The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a programme of activities open to girls and young women aged 14 to 24.
DofE fits in closely with many of the awards and qualifications available to you through guiding, in particular the Queen’s Guide award.
There are three progressive levels of the award – Bronze, Silver and Gold – that vary in length and commitment.
For each level you need to undertake four sections; volunteering, physical, skills-development and an expedition. For the Gold level you will also need to take part in a residential event.

We will also be running Bronze/Silver/Gold Assessments. The precise dates and details will be issued once we have ocnfirmation from Girlguiding of what is permitted, as well as more information on which campsites might be accepting groups by then. However all expeditions will take place on dates between Friday evening on August 20 and Tuesday afternoon on August 24. This option is open to all those wanting an assessment at Bronze, Silver or Gold levels.
We have run virtual trainings at Bronze and Silver level with a series of Gold trainings due to start shortly. We have already run a virtual 1st Aid training with the second due to run mid-June.
Gold Expedition Training will comprise three sessions on Tuesdays 1, 8 and 15 June.
To register, you must already have registered to do your Gold DofE award and you must be able to attend all three sessions. Bookings have closed for this training – if you are interested in attending please email email@example.com.
1st Aid Training for all levels of DofE will comprise two virtual sessions on 12 June, one from 1000-1230 and the second from 1300-1530. This training is now full but if you need to a 1st Aid training please email firstname.lastname@example.org
There will be one further session for each level for those who are booked on either the practice or assessed expeditions to start the planning process.
