This is a 16 hour outdoor first aid course which will give you a qualification which is recognised by most national governing bodies. Training on both days will commence at 9 am prompt. The weekend will finish at approximately 5.00 pm on Sunday.
Participants will be expected to take a full and active part in the course, including acting as casualties for each other. You will be expected to be capable of kneeling, performing CPR on manikins and lifting and rolling simulated casualties. Suitable clothing would be a tracksuit and trainers or other loose clothing and flat shoes. A significant amount of time will be spent outdoors regardless of the weather, so please bring suitable warm and waterproof clothing.
Prior to the course you will need to have undertaken and completed the Girlguiding 1st Response e-learning.
Although this course is aimed at those working towards an outdoor qualification, it also fulfils the criteria for those wishing to renew their First Response Trainer Qualification.
This event is offered as a residential from Friday evening until Sunday tea-time. Meals/snacks will be provided from Saturday breakfast until Sunday lunch. The training itself will take place on the Saturday and Sunday. If for some reason you are unable to attend as a residential then you can attend on Saturday and Sunday without the residential option – there is no reduction in fee however for non-residential participants but you will be provided with lunch each day. Please bring your own water bottle.
