On Saturday 3 October we’re hosting a virtual conference for all commissioners in the North East. You’ll be able to build your own programme from the list of Zoom sessions below, all tailored to help you in your commissioner role. You will need a device with Zoom installed and personalised joining instructions will be sent so you can join each session throughout the day. Sessions:

A. What it means to be a trustee - Find out what it means to be a trustee of your district, division or county

B. Holding adult meetings online - Guidance and support to run effective administrative meetings in a remote environment including meeting structures and remote meeting etiquette

C. Growth, retention & recruiting - Looking at retaining members in the current climate and ways to recruit new members

D. Risk Assessments & RENS - A commissioners role in providing safe residentials for the girls - a look at assessing the REN and risk assessments forms provided

E. Compliance - Ensuring compliance with Girlguiding policies and procedures is a key part of the commissioner role, this looks at what is involved, using case studies and scenarios to guide understanding

F. Handling Complaints - The process of the complaints procedure, the conversations that may take place and scenarios of the most common complaints

G. New Commissioners - Aimed at those with less than 2 years in role - will include key topics and chance to get questions answered

H. Doing our Best - A look at the standards from a commissioner point of view and how to support leaders

I. Peer Education - Find out more about Peer Education, what it is, who are the Peer Educators and what they can do for the girls

J. Properties - As commissioner the things you need to be aware of when your area owns a property

K. Go for commissioners - The information you need to access as a commissioner on Go, a look at reports & a chance to get your questions answered
