Welcome to Bridge! Our NEW region network for 14-30 year olds!
What? Do you want to connect with more people in your area? Maybe you want to learn new skills, find out about opportunities in Girlguiding, use your voice to shape change, and build your confidence.
Come along to the launch event of Bridge, the new network for 14-30 year olds in Girlguiding North East England, on Saturday 9 March. This event is all about YOU and we want to put the day in your hands. Choose from a range of activities to shape a programme that inspires you! Plus, get a sparkly badge and some exclusive event goodies to celebrate Bridge’s launch.
When? Saturday 9 March 2024; 0930-1630
Where? The Priory Street Centre, York (The venue is approximately a 10 minute walk from York Railway Station)
Who for? Members of Girlguiding North East England aged 14*-30 (including Young External Volunteers registered with a unit)
*Please note that 14 year olds must hold a Ranger or Young Leader role, regrettably we cannot accept bookings for Guides
How much? £12.50 to include an event badge, activities and a goody bag to celebrate the launch of Bridge.
Choose your programme! During the event, you will do 4 of the following activities. When making your booking, you will be asked to rate your options from 1-6, 1 being the session you most want to do and 6 being the session you least want to do. We will then allocate sessions once bookings close. Please note that some sessions may be subject to changes.
Session options (participants will do 4 of these)
Championing your wellbeing – This session will be an open forum to explore mental health, try out activities to support our mental health and discuss how to keep our wellbeing cup full within and outside of Girlguiding.
Using your voice in Girlguiding – Come along to learn more about the different opportunities to speak out in Girlguiding and take part in some sample activities.
Women in STEM – An interactive session trying out STEM activities and learning from others.
Creative communication – In a world of social media, getting the word out is at your fingertips! But, how can you design and share your message in a creative way? How can you safely use your voice to shout out about the issues important to you?
Collective voice challenge – A series of team-based tasks which will push you out of your comfort zone and connect you with 14-30 year olds in our region.
Women in Sport – Find out about women’s journey in sport, positive representation, opportunities and find out how you could get involved in sporting events in Girlguiding.
How to apply?

Ticket sales will close at 11.30 pm on Sunday 21 January 2024
Payments can be made via Paypal, card or BACS. If you wish to pay by card make sure you click on the ‘Debit or Credit Card’ link just below the ‘Paypal’ one. If you wish to pay by BACS click on the dropdown arrow next to ‘Pay by paypal’ and it will give you the BACS option. BACS payments must be received within 48 working hours of booking or we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
Booking Terms and Conditions
By booking this ticket you are agreeing to the Girlguiding North East England booking terms and conditions as follows.
Cancellation by Participant – Cancellation must be made via email or in writing to the Girlguiding North East England office. No refunds are payable on cancellation by the Participant.
Cancellation by Girlguiding North East England – Girlguiding North East England reserves the right to modify or cancel the event if unforeseen circumstances arise. In the event of cancellation being made by Girlguiding North East England a full refund of the event fee paid to Girlguiding North East England will be made to participants.
