I have been an adult member of Girlguiding for almost 50 years. After making my promise as a Brownie I moved on to be a Guide and Company leader going on to take the adult leadership qualification. I moved from Pontefract to Wakefield in 1975 and became a Brownie leader with the pack at St Helens Church Sandal.
I have held Commissioner appointments at District, Division, County and was North East England Chief Commissioner, I’ve also held programme and training roles and served on several committees for Girlguiding at a national level.
I am presently archivist for the Region and a firm believer in today’s news is tomorrow’s archives! I enjoy sharing memories and highlights of Girlguiding and the opportunities it can offer to girls and women of all ages.
I am County President for West Yorkshire South, a Division leadership mentor and a District Guider when required. I have travelled the length and breadth of our Region and made so many guiding friends.
I worked at the Post office for many years but I always say my career is in Guiding.
