An opportunity for district and division commissioners, commissioner mentors and those trainers who train commissioners to receive the Girlguiding Level 4 Safe Space training  If you are a section adviser who carries out some of what would traditionally have been a commissioner’s role – for example visiting Units and supporting adult leaders this is a suitable training for you as well.

 

Fees and expenses – There is a nominal fee of £10 to contribute towards the cost of the training and refreshments.  It is perfectly acceptable to take this fee out of the funds for whatever level you are a commissioner – for example a district commissioner from district funds and so on.

It is also acceptable to take travel costs from these funds.  It MAY be that your county can make a contribution towards your travel costs – please discuss this with your county commissioner.

 

Timings and Refreshments – Refreshments (drinks and pastries) will be served from 10.00 am, please arrive by 10.15 am as the training will start at 10.30 am prompt.  Tea and Coffee breaks will be included but please bring your own packed lunch.  We expect the training to end by 3.30 pm.

 

Numbers are strictly limited and we expect this training to be over-subscribed.  If you have a booked place and then cannot attend please let us know so that we can offer the place to someone else.

Guides on Snow & Surf

This is a weekend event for Guides (with or without a leader) and includes 2 nights accommodation (either indoor* or camping), two days of activities and all meals from Friday evening until Sunday lunch.

 

The activities available to the Guides will be a ‘snow’ session with activities including skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing at Silksworth Ski Slope, ice skating at Whitley Bay Ice Rink and a ‘surf’ session being run by a Surf School in the sea.

Guide leaders – you can send your Guide parents details of this event by downloading this information as a PDF and then printing it off or emailing it direct.

 

How to apply

 

Bookings can be made by parents/carers as individuals on behalf of their Guide or by units as a group with or without leaders and are taken through our online booking form below.
