The North East England international team are bringing us another exciting virtual event, Postcards from Around the World! We’ll have a mixture of activities on Zoom led by our volunteers as well as challenges to have a go at at home.

On this page we’ll be collecting all the documents and activities that you could try out during the weekend and any of the photos you send to us!

Friday’s activities:

Begin your journey around the world with a visit to Western Hemisphere region. On zoom we’ll be hearing from members in Argentina, Canada, USA and Mexico! Then we’ll test your listening skills with a quiz. Don’t worry if you’re not joining us on zoom, you can still have a go here:   Western Hemisphere Quiz (

Did you know we’re part of a global organisation? Learn more about the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) with these colouring sheets.

You can also wear the World badge on your uniform which can be ordered from the Girlguiding shop or your local shop/depot. Find out what the parts of the World Badge mean by labeling and colouring this template:

Saturday’s Activities

Next on our trip around the globe is to visit the Asia Pacific Region! Girl Guides Australia have partnered with Lego to create LEGO® Friends themed challenges. Have a go at the LEGO taster challenges here: Asia Pacific – offline activity Saturday morning – lego challenge – Google Drive

Now you’re fueled up, find out about the importance of biodiversity by learning what kind of living conditions there are for life in general right under your feet with a visit to Europe Region. If you’re joining us on zoom, we’ll be doing this activity live! Activity booklet for Europe:

At lunch time, why not have a go at a recipe from our international cookbook:

After lunch, we’ll be visiting Africa Region to learn a new skill. A common craft across Africa is paper bead making and making pots and bowls.
