Who for?  Girlguiding members from the North East England region registered and planning to complete their DofE Expedition section in 2026

How much?  £100 (includes indoor accommodation for 2 nights, all food from Friday evening until Sunday lunch time)

Further Information: This is the first of the three expedition events for those hoping to complete the DofE Expedition section in summer 2026. Training will be tailored to the Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels of the award and will include navigation skills, route planning, map reading, first aid, food and cooking at each level.  You will need to come equipped for a day walk on the Saturday, a full kit list will be issued prior to the weekend.  This is also an opportunity to meet others who may form part of your expedition team in the summer.  You will need to organise your own transport to and from Wynches.

You must fully complete the training weekend, practice expedition and qualifying expedition to be able to complete the expedition section at your level.

Practice and Qualifying Expeditions will be open for booking shortly for the following dates:-

Practice Expeditions

Bronze – Friday 24th – Saturday 25th July 2026

Silver – Friday 24th – Sunday 26th July 2026

Gold – Friday 24th – Sunday 26th July 2026

Qualifying Expeditions

Bronze – Friday 21st – Saturday 22nd August 2026

Silver – Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd August 2026

Gold – Friday 21st – Monday 24th August 2026

Payments can be made via Paypal, card or BACS. If you wish to pay from a Paypal account or by card make sure you click on the ‘Paypal’ button – Paypal administer our card bookings for us.  If you wish to pay by BACS click on the dropdown arrow next to ‘Pay by paypal’ and it will give you the BACS option.  Please make a note of the bank details when they appear if paying by BACS, please also quote the reference ‘DofETr26’ when making the payment.  BACS payments must be received within 48 working hours of booking or we reserve the right to cancel your booking.

Cancellation by Participant – Cancellation must be made via email or in writing to the Girlguiding North East England office. No refunds are payable on cancellation by the Participant.

Cancellation by Girlguiding North East England – Girlguiding North East England reserves the right to modify or cancel the event if unforeseen circumstances arise. In the event of cancellation being made by Girlguiding North East England a full refund of the event fee paid to Girlguiding North East England will be made to participants.
