Bridge 2025 – Our region Youth Network event for 14-30 year olds!
What? When? Where? Who for? How much?
What? Do you want to connect with more people in your area? Maybe you want to learn new skills, find out about opportunities in Girlguiding, use your voice to shape change, and build your confidence.
Come along to Bridge 2025, our region youth network event for 14-30 year olds in Girlguiding North East England, This event is all about YOU and we want to put the day in your hands. Choose from a range of activities to shape a programme that inspires you! Plus, get a badge and some exclusive event goodies to take home.
When? Saturday 1 March 2025, 0930-1630
Where? Newcastle United Foundation, Nucastle, Diana Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 6BQ (Easily accessible on foot from Newcastle Station)
Who for? Members of Girlguiding North East England aged 14*-30 (including Young External Volunteers registered with a unit)
*Please note that 14 year olds must hold a Ranger or Young Leader role, regrettably we cannot accept bookings for Guides
How much? £12.50 to include an event badge, activities and a goody bag
Choose your programme!
During the event, you will do 3 of the following activities. When making your booking, you will be asked to rate your options from 1-7, 1 being the session you most want to do and 7 being the session you least want to do. We will then allocate sessions once bookings close, numbers in sessions are limited so there is no guarantee you will get all your chosen ‘top 3’ sessions. Please note that some sessions may be subject to changes.
Session options (participants will do 3 of these)
Girlguiding unpacked – Want to learn more about the wider world of Girlguiding? We are a community of interconnected members. This session will begin to introduce you to some of the different ways you can get involved.
Growing Girlguiding – Want to talk about Girlguiding but not sure how? Interested in growth and retention of young members and volunteers? Come along to this collaborative session as we explore how to grow Girlguiding.
Pitch your challenge – Feel inspired and have a love for badges? Got an amazing idea for an event you’d like to see happen in the future? Work in teams to pitch your ideas and use your creativity to come up with the next big idea.
Developing leadership – Based around the WAGGGS leadership mindsets, this session will help you develop new leadership skills and think about how to implement your skills in your local area.
Arts and Culture – An interactive session to explore different aspects of arts and culture and learn from those in the industries.
Empowering their voice – Do you want to know how to give girls a voice in your unit? Maybe you want a forum to use your own voice and speak out for change. This session will explore different tips and tricks to better incorporate youth voice into the delivery of the guiding programme.
Teamwork MTa with the Royal Navy – A Caribbean island has been hit by a hurricane and they have lost all power. They require us to build a structure that will restore their power. Can you build the best structure?
How to apply?
Please complete the ‘Booking’ section below! All bookings are subject to the following Booking Terms and Conditions.
Ticket sales will close at 11.30 pm on Sunday 12 January 2025.
Payments can be made via Paypal account, card or BACS. If you wish to pay by card make sure you click on the ‘Paypal’ button. You will then get the option of paying from a Paypal account or by debit/credit card which does not require you to have a Paypal account, they just manage our card payments for us. If you wish to pay by BACS click on the dropdown arrow next to ‘Pay by paypal’ and it will give you the BACS option. BACS payments must be received within 48 working hours of booking or we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
Booking Terms and Conditions
By booking this ticket you are agreeing to the Girlguiding North East England booking terms and conditions as follows.
Cancellation by Participant – Cancellation must be made via email or in writing to the Girlguiding North East England office. No refunds are payable on cancellation by the Participant.
Cancellation by Girlguiding North East England – Girlguiding North East England reserves the right to modify or cancel the event if unforeseen circumstances arise. In the event of cancellation being made by Girlguiding North East England a full refund of the event fee paid to Girlguiding North East England will be made to participants.
