Walk Information Sheet: Saturday 16^th August 2025

Name of Walk: Westwood country park and Wharncliffe Heath Nature Reserve circuit.
Date and Time: Saturday 16^th August: meet 9.45am for 10.00am start
Meeting Point: Car Park at GR298993, east of Wortley village.
Approximate length of walk/difficulty level: 6km, 300 m ascent, level 2
Details: From the car park we head east on the footpath to Wortley village. We then follow the TransPennine trail past Wortley Hall as far as Westwood Lodge. Here we turn south along the path parallel to Westwood Lane, passing through Westwood Country Park. Just before the reservoir, at Westwood Bridge, we turn NW and take the Barnsley Boundary walk via Howbrook and Low Booth Wood to reach Wharncliffe Wood Nature Reserve. From here we follow paths through the reserve north to return to the start.
