Region Walking Group – May 2025 Walk
Walk Information Sheet: Saturday 17 May 2025
- Name of Walk: Around the Headwaters of Hebden Vale
- Date and Time: Saturday 17 May: meet 9.45am for 10.00am start
- Meeting Point: Clough Hole car park. On the unclassified road from Hebden Bridge to Widdop Reservoir, SD969297.
- Approximate length of walk/difficulty level: 5km, 500m ascent, level 2. There is an extension to this route adding a further 3.5km to this distance.
- Details: From the Car Park we head N on footpaths to Walshaw and then climb on to Wadsworth Moor. Here we turn W and cross the dam at the head of Walshaw Dean Middle reservoir and continue in this direction until we meet Greave Clough. Turning left, we follow the clough S, then SW, until we meet the road above the Graining Water. Here we join the Pennine Bridleway and this is used in a southeasterly directionas far as its junction with the Pennine Way which we follow to Clough Head and the path back to the car park. The route extension adds a lap around Gorple Lower reservoir.
