Region Walking Group – May 2026 Walk

Walk Information Sheet: May 2026

• Name of Walk: Nine Standards Rigg. 
• Date and Time: Saturday May16th: Meet 9.30- 9.40hrs to allow time for some cars to go forward to the start of the walk at Nateby.
• Meeting Point: Christian Head car park, Kirkby Stephen, GR NY773088, Postcode CA17 4HA. Explorer Map No OL19, Howgill Fells and Upper Eden Valley.
• Approximate length of walk/difficulty level: L3,17km,700m ascent, 6 hrs.
• Details:  From Nateby walk east  up the B6270 & take path NE  towards Lockthwaite, then round northern end of Birkett Hill (spur) , Ladthwaite, road end, Hartley Birkett, out onto Hartley Fell, Faraday Gill, Nine Standards Rigg,  drop down SW to the quarry and onto the road south of Lamps Moss, head SW up on to High Pike Hill then NW past quarry and down to Great Bell. Follow path down to Thringill, road or path back into Nateby.
