Region Walking Group – October Walk
Walk Information Sheet: Saturday 14th October 2023
- Name of Walk: Langthwaite Circular via Hurst, Washfold, and Booze Moor.
- Date and Time: Saturday 14th October: meet 9.45 for 10.00am start
- Meeting Point: Langthwaite Car Park, DL11 6RE. Grid Reference: NZ 005023. Explorer OL30 Yorkshire Dales, North and Central. Pay Car parking, £4.50 for 10hrs. Nearest toilets: Reeth village green
- Approximate length of walk/difficulty level: 15km ,500m ascent, Level 2
- Details: We leave the village on the path by the riverside which leads to Fremington Edge, but once we reach the Edge fork left and take the path to Hurst and then the lane to Washfold. Here we turn north and cross Skegdale Beck. At Schoolmaster Pasture we take the track to the west, Moresdale Road, and follow this for about 4km until we come to an accessible Shooting hut (might be a little late for lunch). We continue to progress west, with good views down into Arkengarthdale and then descend to the valley by one of several routes (depending on the time available) and then follow the Arkle Beck back to Langthwaite.
