The Sports Leadership Workshop is in collaboration with the Lawn Tennis Association Youth Tennis Leaders National Programme.  This event is open to all Young Leaders and Rangers throughout the North East England region.  Places are limited so bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis.

This workshop will help Young Leaders and Rangers take their first step towards a career in tennis or sport.  Throughout the course Young Leaders and Rangers will develop a powerful set of transferrable skills, including

• How to lead small groups with confidence
• Giving clear instructions and positive feedback
• Working effectively with adults, peers and younger members
• Problem solving as part of a team
• Designing simple activity sessions
• Managing time and resources
• Helping run events and community activities
• Discovering your strengths as a leader

This isn’t just about sport, it’s about empowering young women to lead, to try new things and to make a positive impact in their community.  You’ll gain skills that look fantastic on a CV, college application and in future roles.

We previously ran the event in a different location, one of the participants commented:

“I was nervous taking this course, but the skills I have practised on this course will help me become a young leader”.

How to apply:

Bookings will close on Sunday 16th  August 2026 at 11.30 pm.

Payments can be made via Paypal, card or BACS. If you wish to pay by card make sure you click on the ‘Debit or Credit Card’ link just below the ‘Paypal’ one.  If you wish to pay by BACS click on the dropdown arrow next to ‘Pay by paypal’ and it will give you the BACS option.  BACS payments must be received within 48 working hours of booking and include the reference “SLW270926” or we reserve the right to cancel your booking.

Booking Terms and Conditions

By booking this ticket you are agreeing to the Girlguiding North East England booking terms and conditions as follows.

The full cost of the event is given in the event information and is to be paid at the time of booking. This ticket is non-refundable.

Cancellation by Participant – Cancellation must be made via email or in writing to the Girlguiding North East England office. No refund will be made for cancelled bookings.

Cancellation by Girlguiding North East England – Girlguiding North East England reserves the right to modify or cancel the event if unforeseen circumstances arise. In the event of cancellation being made by Girlguiding North East England a full refund of the event fee paid to Girlguiding North East England will be made to participants.
